How the Baltic Sea Inspired My Art

Hello, and welcome to my very first blog post! I’m so glad you’re here to join me on this creative journey. Today, I want to share how I fell in love with the hidden treasures of the sea and how those quiet discoveries have influenced my art in ways I never imagined.

For years, I’ve felt the magnetic pull of the coastline. There’s something indescribable about the way the sea speaks to me, but it wasn’t until recently that I truly started to listen. What was once just a place to find peace became a source of endless inspiration. And now, I see the shore in a way I never did before—rich with details and textures that hold so much beauty, if only you take the time to look.

In this post, I want to take you along on that journey of discovery, to show you how the sea became not just a place of calm but a muse for my art, and how it transformed the way I see the world.

I’ve always felt the powerful energy of the sea. I didn’t think too deeply about it; I just knew that whenever I found myself at the shore, everything inside me would quiet down. It was as if the rhythm of the waves calmed my mind. I felt alive, grounded, and truly myself. My heart would beat with a sense of joy, and it may sound strange, but I swear—my soul smiles when I’m by the sea.

For years, that was enough. I knew I loved the sea, but it was only recently that I began to notice something deeper. As I started hiking along the coast, I realized there was so much more to this connection. I began paying attention to the small details that I had never noticed before. The way the sand shifts and changes with the wind, how the rocks carry their own intricate patterns, the shadows that trees cast on the shore, and the uniqueness of every seashell.

With each walk, I began to see things I hadn’t before. I even found my first pieces of amber. Funny enough, I wasn’t even sure how to look for it, but I discovered that these little treasures often hide in places you wouldn’t expect—tangled in dry seagrass or nestled in areas that might look ‘ugly’ at first glance. It was a simple realization: sometimes, you have to look beyond the obvious to find the true beauty.

It’s become more than just a walk along the beach for me. It feels like I’m unwrapping layers of the shore with every step I take. Each walk is different—depending on the weather, the tide, and even my own mood. Some days, the sea is calm and gentle, reflecting a peaceful mood, while other days, it's wild and powerful, matching the stormy emotions we all feel at times. But through it all, I’ve learned that the sea, like life, is full of unexpected beauty. It just asks that you look closer.

This is what I try to capture in my art. I started collecting sand from my walks, bringing a piece of the coast home with me. With that sand, I create paintings that hold the energy of those moments. I also began making jewelry from pebbles and stones I’ve found along the shore, turning these small, unnoticed treasures into something that can be worn and carried with you. These sea stone jewelry pieces will be available very soon, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Thanks to the sea , my art has become more than just a creative expression—it’s a way of holding onto these fleeting, beautiful moments. The sea has taught me to pause, to pay attention to the details, and to appreciate the hidden gems that life offers. And that’s what I hope my work brings to others—a reminder that beauty exists everywhere, even in the places we least expect.
